We have 50 email Ids on Google Workspace. As we go through the process of renewing our license, we were told that Google Workspace has jacked up the prices from Rs.1,500/- to Rs.2,520/ per user. This 50% hike made Google Workspace cost prohibitive for us.
Just 2 years ago, we had shifted from Shared hosting to Google Workspace so are woefully aware of the perils of shared hosting. We did not want to take a step backwards and go back to shared hosting. We wanted to run our email services from Google Workspace Platform but without stretching the budget.
In our organization most of the Users access emails from the office PC using MS Outlook and Thunder Bird. So we cut down the number of Google Workspace Ids from 50 to 30 and setup team based shared accounts.
The shared account approach, saved us some money, but it turned out to be a nightmare. Every user had access to the team’s INBOX and “From” address could not be individualized. It created lot of confusion and lack of accountability. Users were not able to determine the intended recipient of the incoming emails, and who was responsible for responding.
GS Plus Email Server provided us the best of both the worlds. The reliability and functionality of Google Workspace platform with much reduced price. We installed GS Plus Email Server on a PC in our office network, created an Alias account under a Google Workspace, and connect all the User’s MS Outlook to GS Plus Email Server for email distribution. Now everyone has a unique and personalized email ID running from Google Workspace Platform, but we don’t have to pay Google Workspace for every individual user.
We started with 10 GB space distributed among 15 Users on a shared hosting server. As the company grew and as we added 20 more users, we started facing SMTP Hourly Limits and also spam and virus attacks. Facing these threats, to mitigate risks, we had to take daily manual backups.
We wanted to move to Google Workspace, but the proposed price tag of Rs.88,000 for 35 users was beyond our budget. Google Workspace email services were absolutely the right solution for us, but out of our reach.
That’s where GS Plus Email Server rocked. It facilitated the path for us to move from shared hosting to Google Workspace services.
Powered by GS Plus Email Server, we had to buy ONLY 6 Google Workspace Ids to handle all 35 Users. 5 of these IDs were assigned to management, and 1 ID (let’s call it Routing Account) was leveraged by GS Plus Email Server to create email accounts for the employees who access their emails from their computer in the office.
We created 30 Aliases under the Routing Account within GS Plus Email Server. Our total cost including the Google Workspace, comes to Rs 40,000 a year, saving us approx. 50% of what we were going to spend if we would have gone to Google Workspace without GS Plus Email Server.
We use a shared server for providing email services to our 200 employees. Almost 25% of our employees access their email remotely - from customer location or their home office.
The shared server architecture was unreliable and had issues such as virus and malware. We planned to migrate to Google Workspace, but the price tag was holding us back. GS Plus Email Server offered us an innovative way to move away from shared server without increasing our costs.
We identified 150 users who access their emails only from the office. GS Plus Email Server team helped us procure 5 Google Workspace Ids @2520/ and setup 150 Alias Accounts (30 Per Google Workspace ID ). From our Mail Hosting Control cPanel we then set up 150 Id’s to their respective email Ids.
These 150 users are now using Google Workspace via GS Plus Email Server, for the price of just 5 Google Workspace Ids. They get all the benefits of Google Workspace such as online backup and anti-virus features. Employees who work remotely are continuing with their emails via shared server. So we now have a Hybrid email architecture, partly shared server, partly Google Workspace.
